P.E.I. man claims protection order cannot stand in way of love - The Guardian

A man who breached an emergency protection order by firing off hundreds of emails to his ex-girlfriend told the court that the love story between him and the woman will continue.

“The relationship is not over…it’s well and alive,’’ Mark Stephen Dulisse, 54, assured Chief Provincial Court Judge Nancy Orr.

“You can’t keep two people who love each other apart.’’

Crown attorney Valerie Moore said her understanding is Dulisse’s ex-girlfriend has no interest in having any contact whatsoever with Dulisse, who she described as exhibiting “very obsessive behavior”.

Dulisse pleaded guilty to breaching the emergency protection order that he was served in November. The order stipulated he have no contact with his ex-girlfriend or with a number of other people.

He defied the order by sending out more than 500 emails to his ex-girlfriend trying to win her affection, earn her forgiveness and requesting a visit.

A pre-sentence report was ordered, and Orr plans to sentence Dulisse on March 30.

The judge ordered Dulisse to refrain from having any contact with his ex-girlfriend and to stay away from her home.
