Elizabethton schedules two more electronic meetings this week. - Johnson City Press (subscription)

The Elizabethton City Council will hold an emergency electronic meeting at 4 p.m. today. The second electronic meeting will be the Elizabethton Regional Planning Commission, which will meet in regular session on Thursday at 6 p.m.

The council meeting will consider a resolution adopting policies for expanded family medical leave and emergency sick leave, and for exclusions for certain staff under the Family First Coronavirus Response Act.

The Planning Commission meeting will include a discussion and decision on mixed-use buildings in the downtown business district. The proposed text would allow for the buildings to have residential space in the rear portion of the ground-level section of buildings, while requiring the front of the buildings to be for commercial use.

Another text change to a resolution would involve the one regulating temporary storage containers.

Commissioners will also consider a request for closure of a right-of-way at 1012 Jordan Road and a replan on the corner of Robertson Drive and Cherokee Industrial Park Drive.
