Marvel star Chris Pratt has said he "would love" to join the DCU following a recent visit with James Gunn on the set of Superman.
Pratt appeared in a photo Gunn posted on Instagram from the Superman set in June, sparking speculation about whether he might end up with a role in the DCU. The actor told TMZ that he would "of course" be interested in being part of it and "there's always a chance," though he isn't sure which character he would play.
"I just have to leave that to the fans and people like James to decide," Pratt said. "I'm not exactly sure. I'm truly not sure."
"If it could fit into my schedule and it made sense, I would love it," he continued. "Of course, I love playing Star-Lord, and hopefully, there's a chance that can come back. I just feel so blessed to be able to do any of it, to be considered for any of it. If it's right and the fans would love it, I'd be more than happy to do it."
Pratt made his MCU debut as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy before returning for two sequels in 2017 and 2023, all helmed by Gunn. He also reprised the role for Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder but previously said he feels there is "mileage left in the character."
Gunn, meanwhile, is open to the idea of casting Marvel actors in DC projects. He has said his priority is to find people who best fit the roles and are easy to work with as he ushers in a new era of storytelling for DC alongside Peter Safran. He also hinted that a crossover between the MCU and DCU is "more likely" with him in charge.
Some fans have already fan-casted Pratt as Booster Gold — a spotlight-loving superhero created by Dan Jurgens in the 1980s. The character could be considered one of the first-ever clout chasers, so he would no doubt relish the fact he is getting his own live-action TV series as part of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
First up, however, is Creature Commandos, which will premiere on Max in December, followed by Superman on July 11, 2025.
