I don’t know about you but love calls forth the best in me by opening my eyes to the best in others.
I love the story, The Velveteen Rabbit! In that story Rabbit learns that when you are loved…really loved…you become real. Once you become real you can never become ‘unreal’ again, for love has touched you.
Happily, the true gift of love has been freely offered to us!
Along life’s journey we will encounter many obstacles. Recently, as we all are aware of, frustrations and complicated situations occur over which we have no control.
Yet, through it all God’s love will move through the road blocks. His love will go beyond all complex situations bringing peace and joy in to our lives.
We never have to go through life feeling that no one loves or appreciates us. God’s unending love is present in all things.
Our love for each other can change as we allow differences –real or imagined- to dim it with family or friends. We may disappoint or hurt each other causing us to withdraw our love. Thankfully, His love remains changeless.
Instead of confusion, self-pity and resentment we can cultivate a world of peace, assurance and forgiveness all because of love.
How real do you want to be?
The Velveteen Rabbit wanted it more than any other thing. Just like him we can ‘become’ in order to fully live life. We need not ask, “Why am I here? Who am I , really? Will my life have mattered?”
The greatest love of all is ours. We have been created in the image of a God who “IS” love. We are love, thanks to our God who continually expresses His for us today… and all our tomorrows.
“So we know and believe the love God has for us.”
