Kygo and OneRepublic launch at No. 7 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated May 30) with "Lose Somebody." The collab marks Kygo's 17th top 10 (and OneRepublic's first), the third-most of all acts since the chart's January 2013 inaugural. (The Chainsmokers lead with 19 top 10s, followed by Calvin Harris, with 18).
The song earned 4.3 million U.S. streams in the tracking week ending May 21, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, and bows at No. 6 on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs. Additionally, with 3,000 downloads sold, "Lose" enters Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales at No. 5.
"Lose" previews Kygo's album Golden Hour, due tomorrow, May 29. It follows four previous Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10s on the set: "Freedom," featuring Zak Abel (No. 9, earlier this month); "I'll Wait," with Sasha Sloan (No. 5, April); "Like It Is," with Zara Larsson and Tyga (No. 5, April); and "Higher Love," with Whitney Houston (No. 2, July 2019).
HERE COMES THE 'RAIN': Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande arrive at No. 22 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "Rain On Me." The track, released Friday, May 22, debuts on the strength of three days of radio airplay, as the tracking week for airplay runs Monday through Sunday (in this case, May 24); streaming and sales are tracked Friday-Thursday. "Rain" racked up 4.4 million audience impressions in its first three days.
ILLENIUM IN TOP 5: On Top Dance/Electronic Albums, Illenium enters at No. 5 with ASCEND (Remixes). The set, which follows Illenium's chart-topping Ascend (No. 1 for eight non-consecutive weeks last August-November), arrives with 3,000 equivalent album units.
Further on Top Dance/Electronic Albums, Tiesto starts at No. 10 with The London Sessions (3,000 units). It's the veteran DJ/producer's 18th top 10, padding his record for the most dating to the chart's July 2001 inception. (Louie Devito follows with 15.) Tiesto now boasts 22 total charted titles, second only to Armin van Buuren's 33.
