Several people have reached out to News Channel 3 to tell us that electronic voting was down in Riverside County. An election worker tells us that the system crashed just after Voting Assistance Centers opened at 9 am Saturday morning. The system was down from 9am until 12:30pm according to election workers.
During that time voters were still able to fill out a paper ballot instead. This election worker wanted to assure voters that "their vote is still safe and will be delivered directly and be counted."
Voters can also drop off mail in ballots at Voter Assistance Centers and they will be transported to the Riverside County Registrar in a secure box.
State Senator Melissa Melendez tweeted about the issue.
