Letter: Choosing to love when there’s too much hate - Chico Enterprise-Record

I’m not a Christian, but I was raised as one and although I haven’t memorized the Bible, I know its essence and its overall message. I’ve also studied Buddhism, Hinduism and lots of other “isms” and they all share the same essence and overall messages. They all tell stories of Good over Evil, of Love over Hate, of Doing Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Into You, of Caring for each other. They also all say how hard it is to choose to do Good instead of Evil and to not be tempted to follow the path of those “who are lovers of themselves, covetous, false accusers, boasters, unthankful, truce breakers, traitors, despisers of good.” 2 Timothy 3: 2-4.

Because Trump exhibits all the aforementioned evils, I have come to hate him to the point I find myself raging at him and his followers on a daily basis. Until today! As of today, I refuse to become like him or the masses who have followed him to the Dark Side. I’m going to use my evolved brain to speak blessings and love to those who, like I did, only use their reptilian brain to spew fear, revenge, and hatred. If we are going to keep our infant Democracy we must choose Unity in Love!!
