Netizens are in love with the Korean traditional flower latticework doors seen in BLACKPINK Jisoo's 'ME' visual film - allkpop

Korean netizens are in love with the incorporation of traditional Korean culture once again in BLACKPINK's music and visual content.

In her 2nd visual film for the release of her 1st solo single album 'ME', BLACKPINK's Jisoo appeared standing in front of a traditional-style set of doors, partially veiled by a traditional ink painting.

Now, it's been pointed out that the doors which appeared in Jisoo's visual film teaser are in fact traditional Korean cultural artifacts known as 'Kkotsalmun' (Flower Latticework Design Doors). Unique to the classical monarchy era of South Korea, Kkotsalmun can be found in many parts of Korea today, including in Joseon-era palaces, as well as preserved homes, buildings, etc. What sets them apart is their intricate patterns and complex designs. They frequently symbolized good fortune.

Many K-netizens were proud and amazed by BLACKPINK Jisoo's ability to promote traditional Korean artifacts through her influence, while also pointing out that Jisoo was pulling off the classical Korean concept perfectly with her teaser content so far.

Some left comments like, "Jisoo is so pretty, and so are the doors!", "Traditional Asian concepts suit Jisoo the most. She always looks the best in hanbok", "When I was little I begged my mom to get me flower latticework doors for my room lol", "The flower latticework doors at Naeso Temple are so famous", "Jisoo looks so gorgeous, I love this solo album concept to death", and more.

Adblock test (Why?)
