Love Child reforming for first show in 30+ years to celebrate new 'Never Meant To Be' compilation - Brooklyn Vegan

Love Child, the NYC trio of Alan Licht, Brendan O’Malley, and Rebecca Odes, were together from 1987-1993 and made brash indie rock that mixed punk, noise, twee, low-fi and experimental sounds, releasing records on labels including Homestead, Forced Exposure, and City Slang. The band’s records have been long out of print, but new compilation Never Meant To Be collects songs from their albums, singles, tapes and radio sessions. If you like Pavement, Yo La Tengo or The Embarrassment, you’ll want to check this out. It’s out now via 12XU, the label run by Gerard Cosloy (who ran Homestead in the late-’80s). Listen below.

To celebrate, Licht, O’Malley and Odes are getting Love Child back together for their first show in three decades, happening at Union Pool on June 9 with E. Tickets are on sale.
