Magic Cannabis from Magical People

Bring me to this place of quietude and cosmic energy. Where the earth is in symmetry with the planets and cannabis of the finest quality enlightens and charms the inquisitive.

The Energy

To experience terroir, quite simply known in wine terms as the taste of a specific place as it applies to Humboldt County, California makes perfect sense. In my travels up and down the West Coast of California and stretching from Oregon to Nevada and Washington State to the far reaches of Maine, Massachusetts and down to Rhode Island, each appellation has it’s own personality. Cannabis, like wine possesses very specific notes, also known as terpenes. I’ve discovered that the terpenes of Southern California take on fruit salad notes, bursting with the brightly textured bowl goodness that seems to make everything that I’ve smoked from this region to taste like each puff is filled with optimism. There is a smile in every puff. Moving on up the coast from Southern California to the verdant hills north of San Francisco, terroir is much more evident. Outdoor growth under the sun is the key to the smiles that ooze their way from the earth. Nary a drop of added water enters the growth process. This is a way that resembles Biodynamics, the study of the earth and the universe, interpreted by Rudolph Steiner over one hundred years ago. The flavors of the earth speak with great clarity when Casa Humboldt is nurturing the cultivars  from soil untouched by heavy metals and manipulation. Great care is taken to ensure the finest possible results with minimal intervention, just like in wine.

The Boots

It was those pink boots that called out to the cannabis goddess. Each strain speaks of the place, bringing the essential natural terpenes directly into view. Try the Blueberry Muffin strain first. Bursting with blue fruits, this strain offers full body stimulation and relief from many of the ills of the moment. There are toast notes that come into view. Char and smoke swirl around the nose and mouth filling the expanse with bursts of long cooked jam made from rhubarb and Maine wild blueberries that are tiny and acidic across the palate.

That Blueberry Muffin calls out my name. It’s unique in the sweetly floral notes that carry the imbiber headlong into that gauze tinted, comfort zone which is all the rage in Northern California. Crushed pine needles and deep purple fruits. That’s what I taste in every draw. Gorgeous stuff really. World class cannabis that is not a world away.

Casa Humboldt gets the flow of the universe in their hand nurtured cannabis. Each cultivar is geared to the deepest form of healing, from the earth out. Mother Nature sees to the brilliance of the place. The people are what make this place sing. The Doctor and his Bride oversee the cadence of the earth with a watchful eye. They found their form of nirvana in the earth and the flowers that they hand nurture within this Emerald Triangle.

As lucky as I’ve been as of late, enjoying many amazing strains from extremely talented growers, I’d be remiss if I didn’t classify Casa Humboldt as one of the finest producers of artisan cannabis I’ve ever enjoyed. This is truly the craft spirits of the world of cannabis. And since we discussed wine, cannabis of this quality reminds me of the garragists, or garage wine producers who turn out wild renditions of the classics. And they do so without shouting or calling attention to themselves because when you possess something great, it doesn’t need to be flashy. Casa Humboldt is truly cannabis elegance personified with deep reverence to Mother Nature.
