Did love change your life?
For six Upstate residents, it did and they will be sharing their stories at the Feb. 18 Greenville News storytellers event at the Comedy Zone on Main Street in downtown Greenville. The event is sponsored locally by Hearing Healthcare Centers.
On this night, we will hear from TALK Magazine editor Kim Hassold, former Greenville News columnist Reese Fant, local businesswoman Laura Egelhoff, retired broadcaster Sherry Smith and retired teachers Lynne Murrell and Bobbi Diussa.
Tickets are $12 and will not be sold at the door. You can get them by going to tickets.storytellersproject.com. Doors open for the event at 6:30 p.m. and we start telling stories at 7 p.m.
The Greenville Storytellers Project puts local people on stage to share true, first-person stories. These stories might inspire us, connect us, make us laugh — and, often, they explore life’s more complicated truths. Some could be funny and others more serious.
We also are proud to announce that Humana has joined as our first national sponsor. The partnership will serve to inspire and enhance the attendee experience on Storyteller Project nights. As part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, the Storytellers Project has brought more than 6,000 people to stages across the country. These oral storytelling events celebrate the idea that when we share our stories we become more invested in one another and in our community.

Here are some other guidelines:
- Stories must be true — something you experienced.
- Stories must be (mostly) about you.
- Anything you say in public must not compromise your ability to return to work, your family or your community.
- Anything you say in public must not damage the reputation of another person.
