Several galleries and hallways at View, the arts center in Old Forge, are filled with quilts this season. This year’s Quilts Unlimited show features the work of regional, national and international quilters working across genres from bed and wall quilts to art and abstract quilts. The exhibit, which continues through December 2nd, includes more than 70 quilts.

Todd Moe's  guides for a tour of the exhibit include Catherine Underhill, View executive director, Kelsey Mayo, exhibition manager, and two long time View volunteers and supporters - Linda Cohen and Clair Oheler.

The juried exhibition includes quilts created by some of the best quilters today.  Pick a subject - birds, flowers, landscapes, houses, people, geometry - it's all here in a range of techniques and designs from traditional to abstract.    Director Catherine Underhill says even for someone who's never sewed, the quilts are stunning.    "I mean, you can just stand and look at each one for a long time, because they're all exquisite," she says.

Linda Cohen helped unpack and organize some of the quilts.  "This is a wonderful show for showing off the building, and this is a wonderful place to show the quilts," says Linda.  She insists that we stop by Rain, one of her favorite quilts in the show.  All four women agree that quilter Sandy Curran's creation is a show-stopper.   It depicts a man in hat and coat holding an umbrella in the rain.  Stitched silver threads mimic rain streaming off his umbrella.
