Des Moines woman looks for new love among old treasures at West End Salvage

Let's meet t my name is T. I'm 28 and I'm *** data scientist. I'm looking for someone that's genuine, that's up for adventure and just someone to have fun with, I don't have any pre rehearsed or pre scripted lines. I just like to go with the flow and get to know somebody. I really like going to antique stores, picking out fun objects that I see around to decorate my home and refurbishing and revamping things. West Salvage is just that kind of place and *** great place I think for *** date. So my name is Don Short. I've been the owner of West End Architectural Salvage for almost 18 years. Building parts, unique items, antiques, furniture. We're an event space and we're *** coffee shop. So whatever your needs are, we have it covered West End salvage ends up being *** really interesting date location. You can come in, you talk about things that you're looking at as opposed to talking about your feelings and on *** date. Who wants to talk about feelings? Hello, Dave. Hey, how are you? Nice to meet you. I'm pretty excited to see Riley come through that door today. We know each other we've met at yoga before we actually bumped into each other running *** half marathon. And I actually passed him and he tapped me on the shoulder and I was like, oh my gosh. No way. Then when I walk in and I see him it like, I was like, wait *** minute. What? Hey, guys. Hi. You must be Ty and Riley. I'm don don short from West End. Salvage. Welcome. And you know, I think something could be really fun is we'll go upstairs and find some items that you can maybe work on together. Follow me, we'll go up. So you guys come on up, we'll take *** look around. Keep an eye out for the tin ceiling tiles. That would kind of be *** fun little project. But go have *** good time. Ok. So we're looking for dinner. Lots of cool stuff around here. West Salvage is *** great place for *** date, I think to see *** little bit of their creative side. You, you think there's *** barber chair or is she sh is it gonna? No, no, it was fun to like, oh, this is cool. This is neat. I would have this in my house. I would not have this in my house. Needs one of those to put on their shoes. This is very much not my style. Ok, let's pick *** few with it is, I don't know if I should go off *** color scheme or like *** style. This one I have ***, my house is black. I'm like, all about black but it was kind of cool that we're both into the mid century modern. But I think he's probably like *** little bit more eclectic. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if he had like, eight different kinds of glasses. You gonna do those together? Ok. Straight line. But I like them. Yeah, it's like ebony and ivory, like yang yang kind of thing. Yeah, cool. It should be *** race, you know, like, oh, are we still racing? Yeah, we're definitely, unless I'm losing then we're not racing anymore. Oh, no, you're winning for sure. I feel like *** Ghostbuster or? All right. I'm going for it. Sign the accent. I've definitely never done anything like this on *** date before, but I'm having *** blast. I think we've done all we can do here. Uh How about you? Say we let these dry upstairs? We have *** coffee. That sounds good. All right. Awesome. Ok. Five years. Where would you be? You take it from there? Ok. Tough question. Getting asked like, where you wanna be in the future is never an easy question. It's something that I have thought about. If I was in some kind of long term relationship, that'd be great. I would love that. But I don't like putting pressure on that kind of thing and it's like when it happens it happens and like, I'm not on *** timeline. And, like, that's what I like that the five year question is kind of important to me because I wanna know, what are they really driven towards in the next five years to make that an actual goal? But it's interesting because I don't even know how I would answer that. What about you? Yeah. I used to look at things so differently because, like, I was in high school and I'd be like, ok, go to college, meet my husband. Get married, have seven babies, you know, live on. Like, I had everything that ever since I was like, I was like, I'm gonna have seven kids now. I mean, like you, I just day by day, like, whatever makes me happy and I'm not gonna get myself in the position where I'm like, things have to be this way or else I'm not gonna be happy. That kind of sets you up for unhappiness. Yeah. She's *** really strong person. She truly does seem happy and that's really inspiring. Speaking of *** little sanding on *** couple of them, change them up *** little bit. Yeah. Very cool. And this, we've affectionately decided to call the love tile. I think it would be nice to have *** second date with Ty. I think it'd be fun to, like, go to *** music festival or farmers market, anything outdoors. I feel like Don, we should sign the back of this and put it up here. That'd be cute. I see potential for *** second day with Riley. It'd be fun to connect with her again. Otherwise I'll see her at yoga.
