Matthew McConaughey Celebrates Son Livingston's 11th Birthday: 'We Love Watching You Grow' - PEOPLE

Matthew McConaughey is sending his youngest son some love on his birthday. 

The actor, 54, celebrated his son Livingston turning 11 on Thursday by posting a tribute on Instagram, in which he shared his joy at seeing his little boy — who along with son Levi, 15, and daughter Vida, 13, he shares with wife Camila Alves McConaughey — getting older. 

“Double one’s, we love watching you grow. Thanks for puttin so many smiles on our faces. love, Papa’s,” he wrote alongside a photograph of a smiling Livingston sitting on his lap.

Matthew's wife also posted a touching birthday message for their son on her own Instagram page, where she reposted photos their son Levi had shared of his little brother.  

“Well… When your oldest son has such a great post for his little brothers birthday, I give up coming up with my own!😂😂 re-posting it!" Camila wrote, adding some special words about her youngest.

"Today we celebrate, our youngest, turning 11!!! He bring so much joy and learnings to our lives. It is hard to put into words!!”

Alongside the tribute, the model, 40, shared a carousel of images Levi had posted on his own Instagram page, which began with a shot of the birthday boy posing on a beach when he was younger.

Other snaps featured Livingston making a funny face while wearing glasses and posing with his older brother at various stages in his life, including sitting on a rock together, having fun on the beach and making faces at the camera.

Meanwhile, Levi had his own message for Livingston, which he had earlier shared on his social media.

“Happy 11th lil bro, you’re growing up so fast! #happybirthday,” he captioned his Thursday post. 

Family certainly comes first for the McConaugheys, as Levi recently joined his father at the 2023 Game Awards, which took place on Dec. 7 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

As well as the pair walking the red carpet, the father-son duo also posed for sweet photos together, both sporting smart-casual looks for the event.

Matthew opted for white pants, a dark gray T-shirt and a large gold chain, while his son also kept it simple with blue jeans and a white T-shirt under a black jacket. During the event, the Dallas Buyers Club actor revealed his first-ever video game project, Exodus.

Their night out came after Levi celebrated Matthew turning 54 back in November.

“People know Matthew McConaughey as an actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father,” Levi wrote on Instagram at the time.

“The man who always makes time for us no matter what, the man who’s always there for us no matter what, and the man who taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination,” he continued. “The journeys just getting started…Happy birthday Papai.”
