A fire inside a vacant church Tuesday afternoon in the Dallas Love Field neighborhood drew a large response from Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Units were initially dispatched about 1:18 p.m. to the two-story building in the 7700 block of Denton Drive, near Bombay Avenue.
An estimated 60 to 70 units were responding by 2:30 p.m., according to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans.
Evans said the three-alarm fire escalated quickly and was ongoing as of 3 p.m.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation, Evans said.
Plumes of dark smoke could be seen rising from the roof of the building as flames burned inside.
The building had a sign identifying it as a Seventh-day Adventist Church but at least some of its doors and windows were boarded with plywood.
A website lists the church at 7715 Denton Drive as La Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día.
